Wales Building Regulations Part L, Part F and Part O Updates: November 2022
Updates to Part L of the Wales Building Regulations have now been published and come into for on 23rd November 2022.
We're currently working on updates to our Specifications and Detail Drawings for release in good time for the deadline.
Wales Building Regulations Part L Changes - 31st July 2014
In addition to our Web Apps for the English Building Regs, we have launched a new set of Specifications and Detail Drawings to coincide with the changes to the Welsh Building Regulations.
These important updates, affecting Part L of the Welsh Building Regs, came into force from 31st July 2014. These are significant changes and include improved thermal performances for exisiting and new thermal elements as well as the introduction of domestic sprinklers for new builds.
Our New Web Apps for the Wales Building Regs Specifications (on our Standard and Premium registration) and Detail Drawings (Premium registration) sit alongside the existing Web Apps for the English Regulations. We also plan to incorporate the Welsh Specifications into our Android Mobile App 'QuickSpec'.
Web Apps
Users compiling plans for projects subject to the Welsh Building Regs should therefore use the 'Wales' web apps which are available for House Extensions, Loft Conversions, Garage Conversions and New Builds since many of the specs differ significantly between Wales and England Building Regulations.
However, for Flat Conversions and Garage Builds, the same apps are provided for both England and Wales Building Regs.
Detail Drawings
For many of the detail drawings, there is an equivalent for both England and Wales Building regulations. Where this is the case, there are links to both details on the download page.
This applies both to individually purchased detail drawings and access via the Premium registration.
