QuickSpec and QuickSpec-Wales: on-site access to our specifications!
The Mobile BuildingRegs4Plans App 'QuickSpec' gives on-site access to our Building Regulations Specifications and incorporates the functionality to compile a specification on your Android Mobile Phone or Tablet.
Our Premium-Plus and Standard-Plus Subscriptions now include access to QuickSpec and 'QuickSpec Wales' with Building Regulations Specifications for Welsh Building Regs. Install either (or both!) of the Apps.
The functions and features of both apps are identical except that 'QuickSpec Wales' has Specs specifically for the Welsh Building Regs (where they differ from the English Regs)

Remember to set your phone to allow installation of apps from Non-Android Market / Google Play, otherwise you may get an "Install Blocked" error when trying to install the App.
To do this, you need to go to your Android device's "Settings" and check the box "Unknown sources" which is found under either the "Security" or the "Applications" menu.
Please check before purchase that your device allows installation of Non-Android Market Apps.
We recommend using WiFi for installing or upgrading QuickSpec.
Here are step-by-step instructions for enabling installation:
- Go to "Settings".
- Then go to "Security" or "Applications" (depends upon make and model of your phone.)
- Check the box "Unknown sources", as shown to the right.
- Once installation is complete, you can untick the setting, in the interests of security, but you will need to re-enable it to receive updates.
To begin compiling your Building Regulations Specification for submission to Building Control or your Approved Inspector with our Web Apps, choose either:
House Extension, New Build, Flat Conversion, Loft Conversion, Garage Conversion, New Build Flats, Basement Conversion or Garage Build.
