Wales Building Regulations Amendments: In effect from 23rd November 2022
Building Regs Wales Updates: : Part L, Part F and Part O
The consultation for the Wales Building Regulations ended on 17th January 2022 and the updates to the Approved Documents were subsequently published on 24th May 2022.
The amendments cover:
- Energy efficiency (Approved Document Part L)
- Ventilation (Part F)
- Overheating (Part O)
The Wales Building Regs changes came into effect on 23rd November 2022.
The Specifications for the updated Building Begulations for Wales have now been released are available on the website
The old Specifications are shown under the heading 'Pre-November'.
The new Specifications are shown under the heading 'Specs for November 2022'.
Note that the changes will not apply in relation to building work where a building notice or an initial notice has been given to, or full plans deposited with, a local authority before 23rd November 2022 provided that the building work is started before 23rd November 2023.
Therefore, in Wales, where plans are to be deposited with a local authority before 23rd November 2022 and building work starting before 23rd November 2023, use the Specs with page heading 'Pre-November 2022'.
Where plans are to be submitted to Building Control in Wales on/after 23rd November 2022 or building work is to start on/after 23rd November 2023, use the specs with page heading 'Specs for November 2022', where available.
